thank you for using your head.  i’m so proud to be a democrat and, above all, an american for the first time in a very long time…

my mom scared the hell out of me last nite when i got home from class. she asked if i’d seen sarah palin’s speech at the RNC, to which i raised an eyebrow and reminded her that i missed both the cubs game and the RNC due to class. i’ve seen small chunks of the speech and it’s just like the rest of the empty-headed conservative drivel i’ve ever heard…but she scared me.

she’s a democrat turned independent who doesn’t plan – at the moment – on voting in november. however, last nite, i walked in the door and we started the dangerous conversation of politics. she said, verbatim, “you know, after her speech i really like that sarah palin. she seems like the right gal for the job and i agree with her”…

?!?!?!?!?!

there is no possible way this woman is my mother! she can’t be the very same who taught me to be self-reliant, distrust the government in solving social issues, and to always question authority and the motives of others…this very woman got sucked into the fundamentalist rhetoric of the GOP…

at any rate, anyone who reads this blog knows who’s side i’m on, but that’s not the point. the point is, QUESTION EVERYTHING…question your politicians. go ahead and pull a campbell brown, and piss off your [political] interviewee. they serve YOU…therefore, they should have nothing to hide.

but always remember that politicians are working out of self-interest before that of the people…

there’s truly little i can say about this interview, other than now americans get to see the true hypocrisy of bipartisan politics and how neither party is the “better” party.  this evening, larry king was scheduled to interview john mccain during the republican national convention, but the mccain camp has pulled the interview as a result of this interview of mccain spokesman tucker bounds by cnn’s campbell brown.  the contradicitons are just flying in this…it’s a doozy.  i applaud cnn for attempting to – seemingly – get both sides of party politics…
